COLORING CONTEST

Celebrate IGH Days this year by coloring and submitting your completed artwork.

HOUSE DECORATING CONTEST

Show off your community pride and creativity! If you have had a float in the parade in the past this is a great opportunity to promote your business, event or organization!  Never participated in the parade? This is your chance to make an awesome display for the community to enjoy.  Contest is open to all Inver Grove Heights residents, businesses, or organizations.  Participating locations will be mapped, and published prior to September 11th.   People will be able to take a self guided tour of the decorated locations anytime between Friday September 11th – Sunday September 13th.

EXPLORE 55 SITES IN THE HEIGHTS

 

Celebrate 55 years of IGH, by visiting 55 sites throughout the city and learn about the unique history of Inver Grove Heights, while having a chance to win great prizes at the same time.

SATURDAY

PICKLE BALL TOURNAMENT  9:00am Start

North Valley Park (70th Street)

Pick a partner and join in this new fun tournament!

Must register as a team of two. Championship T-shirt provided to first place teams. Tournament T-shirts will be given to all participants. Registered teams will be notified of tournament details. Balls will be provided.

Tournament will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. No refunds.

Beginner to Intermediate; Doubles Tournament

• Two groups — separate tournaments

• Friendly (non-competitive; Beginner)

• Competitive (Intermediate) 

Up to 16 teams in each Group – 32 teams total

• Best of three games matches (30-45 mins per match)

• Rounds & timing to be decided based on number of teams Entry fee/donation

$20/team of two Entry Fee, collections donated to Neighbors Inc. Deadline for Sign up: Tuesday, September 8

CHILDREN'S TREASURE HUNT STAGGERED START TIMES PER AGE GROUP

Hunt for treasure in the park and redeem for great prizes (one prize per child)

Age divisions: Ages 4 & Under 9am | 5 to 8 years old 11am | 9 to 12 years old 1pm

DISC GOLF TOURNAMENT 1:30 PM CHECK IN  2:00 PM START

Grab family and friends, and join this fun tournament!

Must register as a team of two on the day of the event.

Age divisions: Ages 13-17 | 18 & up: Recreational/Novice | 18 & up: Advanced

Awards will be given for 1st and 2nd place in each division.

Entry fee: $10/team

BIKE THE BRIDGES 3:00 PM

Join us as we celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Swing Bridge with a free family bike ride! Route starts at Swing Bridge Park and goes to the Wakota Bridge and back and is about five miles. Bike King will provide bike repair and the Fire Department will supply first aid along the route. IGH Police will also be available. Participants will receive a free T-shirt, beverage, and snack.

Shop for fresh and locally grown fruits, vegetables, seasoning, salsa, honey, flowers and more at the Saint Paul Farmers Market!

VMCC Parking Lot 80th Street and Barbara Avenue

VMCC OPEN HOUSE 8AM - 1PM

 

Visit IGH Parks and Recreation at the Farmer's Market or the VMCC and register for a

fall youth program with us during this time and save $5 off your registration fee.

You can also tour the VMCC and sign up with our no enrollment fee special (savings of $49). We look forward to seeing you!

CHALK THE WALK ART CONTEST 12PM - 3PM

Hey kids show off your creative and artistic side, and color your square of sidewalk on Cahill Avenue to win great prizes!

Age Groups: • 5 years old & under  • 6 - 9  years old • 10 - 12 years old

Social distancing guidelines will be in place.

Check in between 11:30AM - 2PM at Bremer Bank parking lot to receive your sidewalk square number and chalk.
